Wireless network configurations not sticky between users

Hello,

I have a Dlink wireless router and multiple PCs. I can get connectivity
between the PCs and router no problem. But if I log in as another user
to the PC (XP Pro) then I need to setup the wireless configurations again.
Once it is setup for that user it seems to be sticky but for each user that
logs into the PC I have to set it up. Is there anyway to keep the
configurations
sticky? I called Dlink and they said it was a Microsoft configuration but
then did
not know what the config was and I would have to call Microsoft.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You would have to add the settings into the default. The default can be
found in the registry at HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT I'm not exactly sure where
it is, but you'd need to configure it in there.

Unfortunately you are experiencing the same issue that alot of us are. It
seems to be an issue with introducing users into the wireless domain for the
first time. In my situation I have to have a wired connection to my LAN and
log into the domain before I can communicate via wireless. (Secure Enterprise
Wireless Solution Project i'm working on) I did research and came across a
white paper somewhere that advised the PC is doing some caching, so that may
be why you have to re-configure for different users, because the PC has cahed
the credentials for the previous user. I am actually doing some bagkground
search into this now. In essence, it seems to be a Microsoft issue.

Burt,

Which WiFi manager program are you using? Don't use more than one, please.

When you setup the configuration originally, did the WiFi manager (Windows
Wireless Zero Config, or what you're using) autostart under the account that you
set it up under? Or under All Users?

If it's starting under the original account used for setup (maybe
administrators?), try moving it to All Users.
