Wireless - need "Repair" operation after every restart

Every time I start up my Thinkpad T41, the wireless internet access does
not work until I open XP's Wireless Network Connection Status (system
tray), click Support, and then Repair. After I click Repair, wireless
then works fine until the machine is restarted. Does anyone know how to
get around having to do the repair after every restart?

I contacted IBM and they recommended ditching the XP software and using
theirs, but I'd prefer to keep this simple if possible. I have a DLink
di-624 router.

Thanks.

This looks like some hidden (?) intermediate driver, filter, or protocol hooks your wireless card
and causes trouble. Repair fixes this temporarily.
Finding this pest without a debugger can be difficult.
