Make sure the maker claims it will transmit the distance. Highly
recommended you buy from a user-friendly local store and not from an online
store so that you can efficiently return anything that doesn't work.
All of my devices excepting the microphone are cordless (keyboard, mouse,
joystick, and gamepad). My keyboard and mouse are somewhat early models
which transmit weakly, so I have the receiver close by. It's still worth
it.
Wireless devices are fishy. Given her particular surroundings, you might
have to do some experimentation. Others might give you specific
recommendations on particular products.
