Redhat newbie

please be patient i'm a newbie when it comes to home networking so
here goes...

i have a wireless connection for my notebook (xp home) with a mcafee
firewall. PC (win2000) connected to the wireless hub by cable with
kerio firewall. I have the wireless connected to the internet but wont
neither can find each other.

i have given them both seperate names and set the work group to the
same on both. I have disconnected the firewall on both but wont find
each other. When trying to connect to the notebook with \\192.168.1.*
i get an error saying that the network path was not found. Both have a
administrator user with the same password.

I'm completely lost anyone with any ideas?

-cable connects to hub/router [which has wireless and wired connections?]
-- if so, can you connect laptop via wired connection?
-- if you can, try going to 192.168.1.1 [maybe 0.1] and verify the settings
in there.
-- is wireless enabled on the router?

-does laptop see any wireless networks? Start, Settings, Network
Connections, look at wireless there.

Hi
Assuming that you have a Modem connected to a Wireless Cable/DSL Router.

One computer on Wire the other Wireless and both can access the Internet.

If so you have a Sharing problem.

May be this can Help: http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

Jack (MVP-Networking).
