Hi All

As a total novice on wireless I need help. I have purchased a BT voyager
2091 for my wireless enabled laptop. The CD with the router is not
compatable with vista. I have downloaded the drivers from the BT website &
the laptop connects to the router, however when I open IE I get told i'm off
line. When I hover over the icon the message states local connection (no
mention of internet) . The internet light on the modem is also not on. Can
you help please.....no jargon please as I'm new to all this

Use the supplied Ethernet Cable to connect the Voyager to your computer.. do
not use USB..

Hi Mike
Thanks for the reply but unfortunately that doesn't work either, still
showing as local access only ?

I had that same problem when trying to connect to my aunt's router.
Turns out that the problem is the IP address.
How to solve the problem:
Right click the network icon in notification area, then click diagnose and
repair. when it finds the problem, click attempt to get new IP.
P.S. I might be wrong.
