wireless connection

Please can anyone help me? I have had wireless for a year now but recently
it does not connect
I have to start and close down for about 1 hour before it starts up.
At the icon next to the clock there is a red X but when I right click this
it seems to show it is connected.. I really don't know much about the
computer so I would really appreciate some help.

Unfortunately, we don't know very much about the computer either because you
didn't give us any details. Desktop with a PCI wireless adapter? Desktop
with a USB wireless adapter? Laptop? Make/model of computer and wireless
adapter, etc.

It sounds as though your wireless adapter is failing although that is just a
guess based on not much information. Since you are not computer savvy,
probably the most efficient course of action is to take the machine to a
local repair shop. I don't recommend using a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad
type of place.

If you want to try and troubleshoot this yourself with help from this
