Hello All,

I have a USB Broadband modem which was provided by my Service provider.
I also have a Buffalo Broadband router. The Buffalo's WAN port is an RJ-45
connection.

Is there a way to connect my USB modem to the RJ-45 port on the Buffalo.

Thanks, Graham

Yep. All you need is a rj45 to usb converter. If you type "rj45 to usb" in
Google, for instance, you'll be able to see it and even order it online if
you so wish.

I checked on the 'net, and there are lots of USB to
Ethernet adaptors, as cheap as $11. What kind of
connector does the modem have? USB comes in type A and
B.m A is the thin one that goes into the computer. Type
B is more square, and goes to the attached device.

The USB ports on computers also supply power. I doubt
it'd be enough for any cable modems I've seen, but you
might want to check your modem before ordering.

Alternatively, you could buy your own modem. They
usually charge rent on theirs.

Mike, I have still only found Ethernet( RJ45) to USB, which allows PC
connection
to the network via a USB port.
I need an adapter to connect the USB plug on my broadband modem, into the
RJ45 socket
on my router.

Graham
