I have recently set up a home wired network between my main pc (custom built)
and my new IBM laptop both running xp home SP2 and IE 6 sp2.
When it was first set up the network everything worked perfect. then (only
thing i have
done since was update my nvida fx5200 display driver) it started to half
work the main pc can access everything on the net, but the laptop can not
access any
microsoft web sites, IBM sites and some other web site susual message is web
site found waiting for reply or log onto MSN messenger . I have unistalled
all anti virus and firewalls but
still the same. I have all the latest updates and run the most current
versions downloaded from windows update. when the laptop is conected directly
to the internet it works fine only when conected though the main pc to I get
these problems . if you any other information let me know
Please can someone offer some help

just to also add printer and file sharing work fine and the main pc has
Norton firewall and Norton 2003 av while the laptop has just Norton 2003 A
with no firewall

Your problem is symptomatic of an MTU setting mismatch.

When you're having these problems from the laptop, can you at that same time
access these same websites from the main computer?
