how do i access information to choose which programs i
want to run at start up in windows xp.

.
This can be acomplished in one of three ways. First of
all you can add the programs to the start menu under
start\programs\startup, any link put in will be proccessed
at login. If you know enough about windows and think you
can edit the registry then you can browse to the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Run key and add a link to the program of choice and/or
view current programs entered to run. Directly below this
key is the RunOnce key which does exactly as it says
allows you to put a link to a program that you wish to
have run one time at the next startup then it will be
removed from startup. Another place you can check is the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Run this may contain more user based startup's.
