Here is the issue. I just installed WinXP Pro on a new
HD. I added the old HD as a slave and WinXP fails to
recognize it. It is recognized in the bios, but not in
XP. Any suggestions?

Im no expert but when i installed my new hard drice as a
slave i had to intall a driver for it. Have you tried
that. Or it could be that my computers wierd and doesnt
like me; im sure someone will tell me otherwise or
something.

--But heck what do I know I'm just 15--

The second drive is probably formatted as NTFS, your
first is likely FAT32.

Your computer must be weird because you don't need a driver for an ide
drive. Think about it, you can boot from a plain vanilla 98SE created dos
floppy and you'll be able to see both drives provided they are not NTFS.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage > Disk Management. Check to see if
your 2nd HD is shown there. Assign a drive letter if necessary. I'm assuming
it's already partitioned and formatted.

Is GoBack installed on the Win98 drive? If yes, put it back in the Win98
machine and uninstall GoBack. Then try it in the WinXP setup.

Yep. sounds like no drive letter assigned. Explorer only reports on drives
with a letter assigned. The fact that device manager sees it means it's
detected in the bios, but just to make sure, check the bios such that the drive
is properly configured in the bios.
