Hi there.

Has anyone noticed that WinXP sp1(fully patched) may run slower after a
sysprep reseal? I have 2 pc's that have been resealed and 2 that haven't,
all have the same specs. The 2 pc's that have been resealed run annoyingly
slower than those that haven't. The command prompt defrag for example takes
at least 1/2 hour on a 40gb drive, and it's less than 2% fragemented. All
four 4 pc's have freshly installed Windows OS, and have not been connected
to the internet, so it's not spyware or any other malicious programs that
may be causing the problem.

Any ideas/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry if you don't understand the term reseal. A google search for "sysprep
reseal" would've revealed enough information.

As I mentioned before, all 4 pc's have the exact same specs and just had
WinXP SP1 installed, the difference between the other two is that those pc's
ran syspreps reseal. It has nothing to do with spyware or drivers or any
apps starting on startup. I know how to troubleshoot those problems, thank
you very much. They having nothing extra installed except an in house
application and SAPIv4.

But my question is, anyone know of anything connected to sysprep's reseal
function that may be the cause of the slowdown? if you don't know please
don't reply back with a newbie answer but the time you took to reply is
appreciated.

Thanks very much.
