WinXP Pro - Stop: c0000135

Does anyone have a fix for the following "Blue Screen"
error message:

Stop: c0000135 {Unable to Locate DLL}
The dynamic link library Winsrv.dll could not be found in
the specified path Default Load Path.

Here is the official word from Microsoft: Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article - 173309, but I have to tell you
I've never seen their recommended solution work. If you
google that error you will get other hits that may
provide a better fix, good luck.

If you can boot to Windows try installing the latest Service Pack for
Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/network.asp .
If you can't boot to Windows then try a Repair Install - How To Run Repair
