I've installed a printer as Administrator, but it's not
available for any other users that log on the the
computer. What gives? I really don't want to have to
install the printer for each 500+ users on the domain!

Since you can logon as administrator, I'll assume you have XP.

Logon as administrator and go to the Control Panel>Printers and Faxes.

Right click on the printer and select Properties.

Select the Security tab.

Add "Everyone" to the "groups and User section with the Print Allow option checked.

Good Luck!

if the printer is installed on a 2000 or 2003 server with
print services engaged then, ensure that the clients who
need access to the shared printer are logging onto the
domain vice a workgroup of the same name.
2. also, if there is a novell server outthere and these XP
clients are running printer scripts from it
then......remove scripts that point to LPT1 or 2.

It's hard to answer your question without knowing where
the printer is located and what type of server or how many
servers you have. PS. as of note, if you attach a printer
and share it on a client workstation, bandwidth will be
sucked dry. Server should have controller over it and not
the XP guy.
