I have XP. Overnight, it has slowed down almost to a stop. I have scanned for virus, spyware, cleaned harddrive up, ran defrag......blah blah.......but I have no clue why I am so slow. I want to use my one of a kind XP hammer and throw it into the monitors! Please help me solve this............

When I look at task manager, it shows that McShield.exe is always using 90-100% of my CPU. if that helps.

Thank you,

Brian

Brian Try Ad_aware6 from lavasoft.com and run the scan and than remove all the file from Quintrom.

My XP was running slow and I tried and now it is fine.

This is part of your McAfree antivirus scanning software. Go to their
website for a fix or remove it. Jym

Brian,

Ken is right, check for Viruses and Spyware. Make sure you are clean:

If your McAfee antivirus is old, get a new one.
