I am new to WINXP embedded solution. I want to see if I can build a special
purpose PC with minimal maintenance & configuration as follows

1) PC is x86 machine (with pre-selected hardware, e.g. LAN card, vga,
motherboard & etc)
2) Not harddisk
3) Remote boot WINXP embedded from images stored in a central server
4) Remove all unnecessary modules, e.g. multi-media, Firewalls & etc ... so
that image size and memory footprint can be minimized

Any links or information or websites ...so that I can start the evaluation.
Thanks group.

James,

You can do that and it is explained in product documentation.
Search for remote boot in help.

Basically you will have to make a minimum image. (The best way to make is
small from start then later to remove components)
1. Use "Minlogon sample macro" for minimum XPe project template.
2. Add ramdisk driver component to that image.
3. Do FBA on HDD and make sure that XPe image uses C: as OS volume letter.
4. Make sdi file from this OS partition.
5. Follow documentation to boot from this file.

Slobodan
