You would need a server class OS like Windows 2003 or Small Business Server
(SBS)...

I forgot to add...

Why do you think you need to setup a domain environment on your home LAN? I
can see for a learning experience it may be useful. Otherwise what kind of
problems are you having that you think you need to get into a domain
environment?

Are you aware of the new Windows Home Server (WHS) that is currently in
beta? Its not a domain server but it interesting none the less...

2 words "User Groups" With WinXp in a work group environment you have 2
levels Administrator or Limited. Limited is almost to limited even for my
kids & Administrator is WAY to much for the kids, It is even too much for the
other adults in the house.. I need to be the only Administrator With the
other adults as Power Users & the kids as Users.

and from what I understand the only way to set that up is Domains
