WINWORD.EXE

I accidentally ended the process on WINWORD.EXE in my Task Manager, and now
my MS Word is not operating properly. It wants to open in safe mode. I tried
to reinstall MS Word, but it does the same thing. Any advice?

Thank you so much. Changing the normal.dot extension did the trick.

Task manager still isn't showing winword.exe as a process. Is that ok?

It isn't showing when Word is running? I find that unlikely.
