Just you being impatient. you might want to limit what you are being with
your PC when it is unraring/unzipping files.

Depends on how big the file is. I download 700mb-1.3gig rar files can take
up to 5 minutes. Also depend on your processor speed aswell but i don't see
much difference with a zip the same size

5 Minutes!!!! It takes me about an hour to unrar files that size. I have a
P4 2.5 GHz processor as well. Something's not right.

strange! never heard it taking anyone that long. is it a trial version or
does that somehow decrease the speed?. even doing rars and parity files i
can make tea n come back and its' done. maybe someone will know maybe a
setting for it to speed it up. btw i use winrar 3.20

I use 3.20 as well. Maybe It's me? Maybe I'm not using it correctly? Here's
what I do. If, for example I have 20 rar files, I open the folder where they
are located, highlight them all and choose the "Extract Here" option. After
about 20 seconds, the top progress bar has reached 100% and it asks me if I
want to overwrite the file that has just been extracted. I choose "Yes To
All" because the bottom progress bar has only moved a slight amount and then
it runs through the whole process another 19 times until the bottom bar has
reached 100%. Like I said, for file amounting to, say, 700MB, this can take
over an hour to complete and that's without anything else running..

Am I at fault?

Cheers.

It don't ask me to replace for some reason. Heres what i do anyway if it
gives an idea at all. If it's like split into 20 rar files i just double
click one of the rars. It opens a box up and shows what will be inside the
rar (all the files joined up) . Then i click the file whats in the box and
hit extract and choose the folder , it joins them and puts them in the
folder i specified. Dunno if that makes sense or not! :¬)
