From what I have read xp embedded is the same or very similar to winpe. If
this is the case, does anyone know if there is a flavor of winpe that
includes ntbackup? It would be a great tool for disaster recovery

Or....

Does anyone know how to make ntbackup work inside winpe?

Thanks

jason,

XPe is more set of development tools and XP Pro binaries componentized that allow you to create your own XPe images with particular
sets of XP features included. Read more about XPe: http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/xp.
WinPE is a minimal operating system based on the Windows XP kernel. You can find Winpe on the first bootable XPe/SP1 CD.

You can always create something similar to Winpe using XPe Toolkit (create your own XPe image).

ntbackup.exe is a part of XPe Repository. However, there is no component in XPe database that holds ntbackup.exe. You will need to
create your own component and satisfy all the exe's dependencies (quite many).
