Running XPpro w/latest SP + crit updates at home. STILL
having issues w/winlogon taking CPU to 99% and killing my
box (P4 1.7 768MB Dell). I have: disabled the NIC,
removed M$ Client; removed file & print sharing, scanned
for viruses, d/l'd Ad-Aware & SpyBot & cleaned off about
80 data miners, and uninstalled any unnecessary SW that
may call winlogon - but NADA!!! (Each change done
separately) Still takes over CPU somewhere between 15 min
to 4-5 hours after restart. Did read some M$ doc about
the "fast user switching" possibly being faulty - other
than that, I'm out of things to try short of a complete
rebuild!
Any ideas???
TIA!
