Winï¼’K and 1TB hard drive

I purchased Seagate 1TB(tetrabyte) SATA disk and tried to install it in
my Win2K Pro computer. I was able to partition it into a 100GB and a
900GB with Seagate-supplied utility CD. Next when I wanted to clone the
existing two prtitions disk (100GB and 400GB) to the new disk with the
utility CD, it reduces the destination 900GB to a 700GB (as max size)
for the 400GB source partition.
My question is this: Is this problem arising because I am using Win 2K
instead of Win XP? Namely Is there a limitation for Win 2K in the disk
size that it can handle? Or is the problem due to the deficiency of the
Seagate software? If I purchase a commercial software, can I
clone-transfer the 400GB source partition to the 900GB destination
partition?
I visited Seagate website but could not find helpful information.
Help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestion. I looked for the so-called SATA host driver
for WIN2K at MS site in vain.
However, I solved the problem by using MAXTOR disk (MAX BLAST 5) instead
of Seagate utility disk.
