I have a user who running WinXP Professional. He had created a local profile with local admin rights during original install. This is login is button is available on welcome screen which request only the password. His domain contraller is running Win 2000 Server with Active Dir.

He can map and access the network shares (using different login to network). This requires him to login to network share everytime he login /reboots the machine.

I tried to access the classic window login screen by CTRL+ALT+DEL twice and enter user name: <domainname\networkuserid> and network password. It does not allow him to log in.

What needs to be done so the user does not have to login to network again when he logs in as local admin??
OR How can he create a network profile on the local machine so the second login is not required

Your user shouldn't be logging on as the local admin. Join the computer to
the domain, and have him use the domain account. Use the secondary logon
(runas) for any activities requiring the local administrator rights or
permissions.
