Hello all,
I need to understand if this is a networking issue or something else. My
main computer is running WINXP home has my MP3 collection on it.
I am trying to play (and I have tried to copy) songs from iton my second
computer WinXP pro.
The MP3 recorded at 96KB play, but the ones at 128KB or higher will not play
or copy.
I have attempted :
to use different players
disable all file walls
map the network share as a drive on the second computer
give full rights to the second computer to edit files on the share

Even if I can not play it, why would I not be a llowed to copy it? I get a
message saying disk error the file may be in use or you may not have
permission to copy the file.

Even if someone can point me in the right direction to research, I would
appreciate it.

Thanks for any help,
Steve

My first guess is that you left copy protection enabled when you ripped it.

Next it is a NTFS security issue. These can get tricky.

Third sometimes a reboot will fix an issue with a file that was just
copied over a network.

I'm out of ideas for now.
