windows2000 professional cd player sound

Hi my cd player that comes with 2000 has no sound but vlc player does,
it was a driver AC97, any thoughts on fixing this?

Oh yeah I have a sound blaster live card.

Some of them used to require a cable between the drive and the audio
adapter. Check the documentation for your devices.

Well the CD player, it's what comes with windows itsself, Liken it to
Media Player but it just plays CDs, other players work but not the
windows CD player.
