Someone said Linux is for programmers, Mac OS is for end users and Windows
is for accountants, do you agree?

Linux is for anyone who wants to get an OS for Free.
XP is for anyone and everyone who like PC games

Depends on what you reaaly want to do with a PC overall. Windows XP is good for both general use and accounting (though the latter I would use 2000 or XP-Pro). If you are wanting to edit, compile videos, music, or media in general, Mac is the way to go. If you are wanting an open ended OS that you can write to, or want to use as a server, I would definitely recommend Linux (either Yellowdog, or RedHat), I would recommend Linux Mandrake or Suse for general use.

Well, that is partially true. My belief is PC's with XP will do anything a
MAC will do with the added advantage of PC Gaming. MAC die hards will always
say MAC's do it better but ask anyone who has used modern day PC's with XP.
They will always say PC's with XP will do everythng. And do it well.

Yeah?

Why don't you give a site that has a top ten IT pro list that isn't from MS (you can't because you cannot provide unbiased support)? While I use Windows, and there isn't anything close to it for general use, there are other OSes for certain uses that MS cannot live up to. In fact, the company I work for, is (in the process) of ridding the overly expensive Windows server editions, and moving to Linux; mainly for stability, and configurability reasons. My company no longer could justify the cost of Win2003 Server, or 2000 Server.

We found (in my dept over the past few years) how unreliable Windows has been from the server end, with crashes, and expensive support, and the time we spend rebooting, and starting work over, adding lost time and costs. In our dept, we run 22 servers, and our company has just over 700 servers in total. We are sticking with Windows XP Pro for our desktops, since MS Office suites are far and away better than the rest. Our company has even created a website dedicated to Linux as a learning tool.

Personally, I don't very much like the idea of spending half an hour writing
commands just to play an mp3 :o)

Well, it doesn't work that way, unless you choose to do as such. It is obvious you havenb't used the newest distros of Linux even going back just a few years!
