Trying to eliminate welcome window so that I get get right into
desktop. Used winguides tweak, but Welcome is still unwelcome?
 
if this the one you've tried henry?

About/Policy/Run Group Policy Editor/Administrative Templates/System/Logon/Don't Display Welcome Screen.
 
I had to snap-in the group policy & after some tribulation I found the foregoing in the root director of this sub directory. I made the entries & now I will test it; After making modification in two areas, the Welcome window refuses to disappear. ANy other suggestions.
