Windows XP

I accidentally loaded XP onto my computer twice, how do I
get the most recent one taken off the computer, it is
really slowing me down having two operating systems. I
thought you could load it on right over top like the
earlier versions of windows, but I guess not!

the only solution to solve that problem is to back up your files and run reformat and reinstall the OS

Gary, you can load it over the top. That's called a Repair Install. You
did a New Install. Check here at

Thanks for the help, this sounds pretty complicated for a
user like me who knows nothing about DOS and really not
that much about Windows either.

Is this fairly easy? Looking at the instructions it
sounds over my head!

Gary, rt click on MyComputer>Select Properties>Advanced>Startup and
Recovery-Settings>Edit.
On the second line Timeout=30 insert the cursor and change the value
to Timeout=0 Save the changes
and choose Ok. Then look for the second Windows Folder in C: drive and
you can delete it. It will be a
variation like Windows1 or Winnt.
