I am wondering how to get my windows xp back. I made a
mistake and downloaded windows 2000 over my xp. I miss my
xp. what do I do? I think it is still in the computer but
the computer is currently using windows 2000 as the
default. can anyone help???

Hello!
Windows 2000 is version wise older than XP.
You boot from XP CD and when the options will come you
choose "Repair XP" and follow the online instructions.It
will fix up the problem.

One cannot install 2000 over XP as 2000 is older. The only way you can
install 2000 is to format the drive and install it clean, so there are too
many steps for it to be done 'accidentally'. You would have to boot from the
2000 disc, format the drive, and installed it that way.

So, no, XP is gone - if you want it back, just install it over 2000.
