My windows XP is two years old. Recently when I try to turn off my
computer I go to "Start" then "Turn off computer " then "Turn off"
.............HOWEVER, My computer closes but does not shut off instead it
restarts again. I t does not stay closed?? I have to unplug the computer to
shut it down.

Can anyone help!!!????

To add to Malke's post, and address the OP's last sentence, you never have
to "unplug the computer to shut it down."

Use the power/on off button. You'll need to hold in in for four or five
seconds to turn it off.
