same here. i want to erase everything aswell.
while installin xp do i delete the old partition which has my old operating
systems. i installed my new xp in the same partition cos i thought it would
overwrite my old one but now i got 2.
can someone plz reply.
i want 2 get rid of these 2 operating systems and have a new clean instal of
xp.

Hi,

Boot the WinXP CD, start the installer, do NOT hit "r" to enter the Recovery
Console. At a point after the license screen, you will be offered to repair
the existing installation, instead choose to delete the existing system
partition. Then create a new one from the free space, format it and proceed
with the installation. All existing files will be gone.
