I RECENTLY INSTALLED THIS NEW OP-SYSTEM AND I AM HAVING PROBLEMS. FORST OF
ALL IT IS SLOW. THE ADVANTAGE OF HAVING MULTIPLE USERS WOULD BE FINE BUT IT
TAKES SO LONG TO GO FROM ONE TO THE OTHER (NEW SCREEN FOR EACH) THAT I JUST
GAVE UP AND WENT BACK TO ONE USER. BUT
WHEN I GO ON LINE AND TRY TO DO ANYTHING IT LOCKS UP. THEN I SHUT DOWN AND
START ALL OVER THIS TAKES TIME. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. IS MY HARD
DRIVE GOING OUT? I HAVE TRIED RE-LOADING THE SOFTWARE. I HAVE TRIED GOING
BACK TO A PREVIOUS DATE. NOTHING WORKS. CAN YOR GIVE ME ANY IDEAS? HELP
HELP HARRY

Unfortatnly, you are posting in the wrong newsgroup. This newsgroup is for
questions about ms-access, a database program that is part of Microsoft
office.

So, I would suggest that you try one of the MANY computer help boards on the
internet..as this IS THE WRONG newsgroup.

In addition, I would suggest that you contact the people you purchased the
computer from..and see what they can do to help you also.

Good Luck...

Yea, this is the wrong news group.

However here are a few ideas.

First XP often uses more resources, like memory, than prior systems and
you may need to get more memory to have it function as it should.

It would appear that you may be using users in a way it was not
intended. If you have only one person there is not much reason for most
people to have more than one user. It does take a little time to move from
one to the next. It has to reload and many parts of the system and change a
lot of settings. If making these changes is not important to you, then you
have chosen wisely not to use that feature. I don't.

On the other hand if you have kids or others who use the same computer,
it is a good way to keep one user from stepping on another's toes.

Sorry I don't have any suggestion about the lockup. But if you stop by
Annexcafe.general.user2user or microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support I
think you will find some help.

Hint, using ALL CAPS is considered bad form and it is hard for many
people to read. You are likely to get more replies if you can us proper
case.
