windows XP zip program???

I am sooooooo sorry, I dont even know how to join this
group?? I have Windows XP. I downloaded, and installed
a file compress program. I didnt really understand it, so
I removed and dumpped it. Only problem,,,, all the files
and programs I had in Zipped files, on my desktop, are
now not zipper files???? They look like little teeny
windows??? Not sure how to explain what they look like,
but I know that my windows zip program was modified by
that silly compress program I wish I had never installed.
I need help, I really dont want to do a system recovery,
and a system restore didnt work. When I did the system
restore, at the end, it said system was not restored!!!
OHHH please let there be someone here who can help me????

Run the following two commands from Start/Run and see if it helps:

regsvr32 zipfldr.dll
regsvr32 cabview.dll
