- Boot into Vista.
- Rename the WinXP system folder to WinXP.delete
- Wait a week
- Delete WinXP.delete
About "Duel boot" (or Dual boot): Duelling is mostly done with pistols at
dawn.

I dont understand this...........wait a week before deletion ??
Would he not still have the option of which OS to start with when he
restarts his system?? because the Vista bootmanager would still think XP was
there??

The one week waiting period is for the OP's safety.

The OP's main aim was to free up space. Deleting
the WinXP folder will achieve his aim. It won't
remove the WinXP option in the Vista boot manager.
Best to ask in a Vista newsgroup how to remove this
option.

thanx...with a chuckle
