Windows XP will not run past startup

Have you tried tapping the F8 key on startup to try
safemode or maybe enabling vga mode might help (on the
same menu), if both of these fail it may be worth
degausing the monitor as a final resort. A blue screen
before shutdown could be a windows protection screen,
either way a log of the event should have been created but
at present i am unable to remember what this log is
entitled. If you are using FAT32 could be worth opening
this file through dos (via win98/me startup disk) to read
what it says "edit <filename>"

I am currently running ntsf formatted hard drive. It is
not fat32. I hit the F8 key and have tried just about
every option they had to offer minus doing the ask command
promt or something like that. I do know I have clicked
everyone of them.
