Have you verified that you've installed the the WinXP-specific audio
drivers, as provided by your sound card's manufacturer? Have you
enabled the system tray icon from within the control panel?

There is no need since "SNDVOL32.EXE" is installed by default.
Any suggestions?

where do I find the audio drivers? Control panel wont allow me to select the

They should be on one of the CDs that came with the computer, and also
available for downloading from the computer manufacturer's (and audio
controller's manufacturer's) web site.
