I have 128MB Ram and have increased the memory to 3
times, i have selective startup, and have disconnected
my firewall protection and am still receiving this
message, the 'puter is on loan to me from a school that i
presently enrolled with, and it will not be mine until i
have completed and passed the course, in February. Is
there anyway to fix this problem? I am computer
illiterate, so stepbystep instruction please.

What are the actual circumstances where the error message comes up?

Does it happen when you first start up the computer?

Does it happen when you launch an application program? If so, is it
one particular program that causes it or can it be any program?

Does it happen when you go to shut down the computer?

The additional information will help to identify the underlying cause
of your problem. Sometimes false messages of this type can be
produced.

Good luck

In my view the settings that System Managed gives you for a 128MB
machine are inadequate. Go to
Control Panel - System - Advanced - Performance; click Settings -
Advanced - Virtual Memory; click Advanced

Select the drive where the page file is and take Custom. Set the
Minimum size to, I suggest, 400, and the max to 800, click Set and on
the way out click Apply at any point where it is not greyed out.].
Reboot to bring these settings into use.
