Windows XP Upgrade

I recently upgraded from win 98 to XP. Now my computer won't automatically
shut down when I tell it to. It will only say ( its now safe to shut off your
computer). Any help out there???

Look in Control Panel (classic view)> Power Options. If there is an APM
tab, check the box to enable. Automatic shutdown should return if not on
the next shutdown, then the one after that.
