Please please please help... this is driving me to utter distraction!
I have a new PC, with Windows XP Pro SP2 installed. It has been running
pretty well for the two weeks since I got it, apart from a couple of
"insufficient system resources to complete the requested service" messages.
Today, I have had this message two or three times, Windows Explorer has
stopped responding, I can't open Control Panel and I can't shut down or
restart without resorting to the power button or the reset switch.
In short, my brand new system has suddenly become all but unusable.
I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows if it means reinstalling
apps and everything as well but I'm at my wit's end... does anybody have any
idea where to begin sorting this out please?
The system:
MSI K8N SLI Platinum motherboard
AMD 64 3700+
2GB RAM
1 x WD Caviar 80GB (system)
2 x WD Caviar striped (RAID0 - nVidia RAID controller)
GeForce 7800GTX
Thanks in advance to anybody who can stop me throwing this machine out of
the window.
Chris.
