I am using Window XP Home Edition and have SP2 installed.

Sometimes, although I had shut down my computer properly, when I start my
computer, Windows XP will run chkdsk before entering desktop.

Is there anyway to solve this problem?

It would be prudent to run some diagnostic software on your HDD it
could be going south, if it comes up OK run chkdisk from the recovery
console.

Jason, make sure you have a full and complete backup of all important
data. Then download a drive diagnostic utility from the drive
manufacturer's website and run it.
