windows xp start up

When i turned on my computer, it used to go straight to
my wallpaer and my icons.
Now it stops at the login page and i have to click on my
user icon to continue the login. How can i change that
back to the way it was

If your system is using the Welcome screen and you don't
want it to, follow these steps:

1) While logged on as an administrator, open User Accounts
in Control Panel.
2) Click the Change The Way Users Log On Or Off link.
If a warning message about offline files appears, simply
click Cancel.
3) Un-Select Use The Welcome Screen and then click Apply
Options.
