Does anyone know the difference between SP2 and SP2B?

Contains SP2 and updates until something like June 2006 I believe.

No different than buying a Windows XP RTM CD and integrating SP2 and all the
updates onto it yourself.
(Except you can update it all the way through November 2006 - which you can
do with the SP2B CD as well.)

Thanks Shenan.

Yes. The difference is that one exists and the second doesn't. There
is a Service Pack 2 for WinXP. There is, however, no such thing as a
"Service Pack 2B" for WinXP.

Well, I see where there is something in an OEM version that vendors are
calling "SP2b," so I see where the question arises. However, I find
zilch about it on Microsoft's web sites. Have you come across any
official Microsoft source about a new service pack release?

2B or not 2B, that is the question.

And it is one which Microsoft has consistently refused to answer in
any official way, in spite of repeated requests.

I believe that it is an updated OEM product version but what it
incorporates, especially in terms of any added functionality or
changed features is a closely guarded secret.
