Windows XP SP2

What is the general opinion of this?

Due to its recents speculation in the press - I have been slightly cautious
of updating my laptop.

What are the recommendations??
 
I recently installed SP2 on three computers:

1. Dell Inspiron 8200 notebook running Windows XP Pro SP1.
2. HP Pavilion 760c desktop running Windows XP Home SP1.
3. Custom-built desktop (MSI 865PE Neo2 - P4 2.8 GHz) - Windows XP Pro SP1.

I'm pleased to report no SP2 installation issues occurred. After a good defrag,
all PCs running fast and smooth.

I would suggest performing a Disk Cleanup and then a Check Disk prior
to installing SP2. After installing SP2, perform a Defrag.

I installed the network install on 2 computers Aug 9, a Dell Inspiron 4000
and
a Dell Dimension 4500. The install process was uneventful, though long. I
have
had no operational problems since then. All software seems to work ok.

I fail to see what the fuss is all about.

I installed mine on my parent's, my brother's, and mine (I dont know much
but to my family I'm a god!) and had zero troubles.
 
Installed it on my laptop. Not a good idea!
