Windows XP SP2 slowed down my network

I was using Windows XP SP1. Transfering files from SP1 to an intranet
sever could reach a speed of 900KBps on the old 10Mbps LAN.

After upgrading the WinXP machine to SP2, file transfer speed dropped to
only 300Kbps to the same intranet server.

Why? How could I get back my top file transfer speed in SP2? I tried
disabling the firewall, didn't help.

After upgrading the WinXP machine to SP2, file transfer speed dropped to
only 300Kbps to the same intranet server.
Problem fixed after switching the network card to another PCI slot..
Sorry. Puzzlinf that WinXP complained while Win2k didn't...

man-wai chang,
Just curious, did the change in location, also require you to install updated drivers for the network card?
