Folks,

I have a new laptop that I love with one problem that is driving me crazy. About 1 out of every 5-20 times I go into hibernation, the system hangs. Specifically...

1) Preparing to hobernate
2) Screen goes blank
3) And that's it. The disk is still active so Windows is still alove, but you cannot bring it out of this state.

But I figured out what is going on -- in the event log every time this has happens is this message...

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 7/6/2004
Time: 6:21:29 PM
User: N/A
Computer: GLENN-ACER-XP
Description:
Application popup: Windows - System Error : Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I can't figure out what application / service / driver is causing this, but this is the problem.

Any thoughts...?

hi,

in our company we have done the following with those 'problem' laptops:

Go to the producers homepage - look for bios updates / firmware upgrades for your laptop and the components of it - do them if there are any problems known to the manufactorer and he has updates for this - do them carefully and strictly like they say you have to.

Use the drivers for the components tested by the producer of the laptop - if they don´t work have a look at the manufactorer of the components themselve - proberly there are even newer drivers testet for your machine and the operating system.

For us it has worked - proberaly it will for you to

kind regards

Dirk
