Does this happen when you connect to the Internet (or are
otherwise online)?
You probably have the latest worm virus. If you are
using XP you can do to follow:

Restart your computer, Do Not Connect to Internet. Go to
control panel, click on network and Internet connections,
then, click on to network connections. You should see a
choice of Internet connections (modems) right click on to
your morning (the one you currently used to connect to
the Internet) scroll down to properties, then click
advanced, then enable the Internet connection firewall.
This will allow you to connect to the Internet and have
an uninterrupted session.

Now connect to the Internet and download the following
patch:

http://microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
FamilyId=2354406C-C5B6-44AC-9532-
3DE40F69C074&displaylang=en

Once you have installed this patch, continue:

(1) LOGON TO WWW.SYMANTEC.COM
(2) CLICK ON THE LINK TO DOWNLOAD THE SECURITY PATCH FROM
ADVISORIES SECTION (CENTRE LEFT CORNOR OF THE WEBSITE)
(3) NAVIGATE TO THE APPROPRIATE OS AND DOWNLOAD THE PATCH)

This can be a little confusing. You are looking for
the 'Fixblast' patch. The symantec site will tell you how
to utilize it.

Good Luck.
