If my Windows XP Setup CD is defective, how do I get another one?
The one I have now won't complete the setup process.

What specific problem(s) are you encountering? Problems copying files
or corrupted files during installation are most often caused by
defective or sub-standard hardware; in order of likelihood, either RAM,
the hard drive, or the motherboard. On very rare occasions the CD drive
or installation CD is the problem. Be that as it may, to answer your
specific question:

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact the computer's
manufacturer.

Bruce Chambers,
I obtained the CD using the Run the Dellâ„¢ OS Recovery Utility on my computer.
Dell no longer ships the cd with the computer.
I trying to install the Windows Recovery Console.
I click the start>run and enter, d:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons.
Before I get to the Windows Recovery Conscole screen, I get the error message:
D:\i386\COMPDATA\NTCOMPAT.INF is invalid.
The CD is valid and I have key info.

Well, since you're using Dell's proprietary recovery method, rather
than a real installation CD, you'll need to contact Dell for assistance.

Just what I needed to hear.
