I have a problem caused by my children. They have somehow
managed to invert the Windows screens by 90 degrees. In
other words the Task Bar start button is in the top left
hand corner of the screen and all the icons are also
rotated by 90 degrees - the only way to read the screen is
by tilting one's head to the side or turning the screen 90
degrees.
Restartinbg the system does not help - all the screens
from the hardware reboot through to the message "starting
Windows" are OK. As soon as you get into XP the screen
rotates by 90 degrees. I haver tried to drag and drop the
task bar - it will move but stays inverted 90 degrees

Can anyone help please

Hello,
There may be a setting in the Display settings which allow you to rotate the screen by a certain amount of degrees. You can access this via the Start | Control Panel | Display and then Settings Tab.

Hope this helps.

Maybe, your chair is bent! <grin>
Really, go to control panel and open Display Properties. On the Settings
tab, click the advanced button. Look for a tab that names your video card.
There should be a control that says "Rotate" or something to that effect. It
will vary from one card to the other. You should be able to correct the
problem from there.

right click on your desktop and then click properties then the settings tab\advanced button and look for your video card listed on the tabs at the top. Mine is GeForce2 Mx/MX 400 .. Click that tab and look for any setting relating to "rotate" In my case it's NV Rotate. I click that and get the option of rotating the screen any number of degrees. In my case I choose the option down the bottom of "Landscape (0 degree rotation)" Good luck.
