After installing the Service Pk2, my computer will not
boot up at all. The black screen showing says, Windows
failed to shut down properly, choose the boot up sequence
that will best suit your situation. NONE of the boot
sequences work, not even to boot into safe mode. What
gives? Has anyone run into this problem? If so, can it be
fixed without wiping your hard drive and reinstalling
Windows? HELP!!!

Hi

Can you get to the screen that has 'Last Known Good Configuration' as one of
the options? Try LKGC to see if you can boot into Windows normally.

I can boot but it takes 2-3 minutes now compared to 30 sec.
The same goes for when i get online, takes forever.

How to use the Automatic Recovery feature to recover your computer if
the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup program is not completed
successfully:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=875355

Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Select "Last known good configuration" at the menu.
If that fails, reboot tapping F8 again this time choosing Safe Mode.
Then System Restore to Date/Time before issue started:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore

Otherwise perform a Repair Installation:

When you are ready for SP-2, follow the Service Pack Installation
Checklist:
