Windows XP Service Pack 1

I recently upgraded my computer to a Pentium 4 and now everytime I attempt to update SP1, I get error message: Windows XP SP1 is not compatible with this version of Windows. It worked priot to the upgrade but now I am unable to upgrade. What must I do to solve this issue?

Did Windows XP come pre-installed on a new Computer? If so, right click on
My Computer and select Properties. Look at the General tab. Do you already
have Service Pack 1 installed?
