Last night I went in to download the patch for XP. I asked
for updates and was told there was 3..and that one needed
to be installed by itself...so I picked that one first...
I started the download at 5:3o PM my time. I have a 56k
modem....it completed at 9:15PM my time.

Is this common or is this just nuts?

I never did download the patch.....BUT.....I was told that
if I have an active Norton Product scanning my system that
I don't NEED the patch....Any input on that?

Also...my computer seems to install new updates lately
almost every day...and I was told between the updates and
Norton I was OK on the bug...??????

.

If you downlaoded SP1a using 56k it would have taken amny
hours since it is over 100 MegaBytes in size.

If you have all the critical updates from Windows Update
installed and have both a virus checker (with up-to-date
definitions) and firewall, you would be safe most most
everything that can come your way from the Internet.

Hope this helps!
